Who Can Take Part?

On Saturday 13th June 2026, at Tewkesbury Abbey, we will host the largest community gathering seen in Tewkesbury for many years. Based on the Ledbury Community Day, now in its 11th year, we want as many community groups and public services to come together to promote their activities to the general public.

Who can take part?
In community groups we include: all voluntary sector organisations in almost any field. This includes, but is not restricted to, in no particular order:
Sports clubs and teams; art groups; youth services, clubs and uniformed organisations; museums; gardeners and flower arrangers; cookery & food; women's groups; men's groups; religious groups; photography; hobbies; games; music, choirs and song; senior citizens; re-enactors; education and learning; local charity and volunteer service organisations; environmental, wildlife; civic and heritage societies.

In Public Services we include Fire, Police and NHS, local government, canal and river utilities;

In addition, we have some space for small commercial or semi commercial bodies in the art, drama, music, education, health and fitness area , which run classes or courses, nut not those selling goods or individual therapy or coaching. There will be small charge for these bodies.

We will exclude:
Political parties or groups. National or regional charities, Commercial concerns other than those mentioned above.

Despite the extensive size of the Abbey and grounds, there are only a limited number of spaces. To ensure a representative cross section of organisations in the Tewkesbury area, if there are insufficient spaces we will select participants. We would encourage groups to consider co-operation with like-minded others.

What can groups do?

There are several offers:
1. A basic table For groups who wish to display items, leaflets, etc and talk to members of the public. These may be inside or outside.

2.An external performance area Suitable for groups able to put on a continuous display or performance, such as sport.

3 A time slot in a performance space. There will be a few performance spaces, inside and out, suitable for artistic performance, such as drama, dance or song. There will be allotted to groups for, say a 30 minute performance, possibly 2 or more times during the day.

To Register Interest

We are currently compiling a list of groups, organisations who may want to take part. We estimate that we can accommodate about 60 to 70 groups, depending on what they can offer. Some will require a performance space, some not. Some would be inside, some out.
